Poster: A snowHead

Son arrives in Marseilles this afternoon and is driving to Sauze dOulx to pick up gf and then back to join us in PSV where it is currently dumping . Looks like he may need chains required by law. Where would be the best place to get them? Supermarket or petrol station ? Avis ones are £75 ….if they have them.

@andmelffion, @Mike Pow, @Mjit, Thanks guys. It’s pretty warm and I’m hoping the roads will be clear.

Is a rental car? If it has all season or winter tyres (mountain symbol) there is no legal requirement for chains, though in heavy snow they are still likely to be necessary, or even required if the police are stopping cars without.

Possibly any massive Auchan or Continente hyper market also. And fuel/service stations near the mountains.

Well although there is lots of snow down into the valleys the roads were clear so I left PSV after skiing drove to Sauze and was back in time for supper.
